FIRST PICTURE IS THE SISTERS OF THE DEAD, AND OUR RESIDENT HEARSE DRIVER RON WALKER AT OUR DAY OF THE DEAD OPEN HOUSE WHERE WE HAD 200 NATIONAL COSTUMERS FROM ALL OVER THE COUNTRY TOUR OUR SHOP AND ALMOST ALL HAD THEIR PHOTOS TAKEN WITH RON AND HIS SUPERIOR HEARSE. THEY UNLOADED BUSES TO A GRAVE YARD FACADE OUTSIDE WITH RON GREETING THE CONSERVATIVE GROUP. WE SHOCKED MANY OF THEM BUT BY THE TIME THEY LEFT THEY WERE REALLY HAVING FUN. WE SERVED SUGAR SKULLS, CHOCOLATE SKULLS AND COFFINS, FRESH FRUIT, BREAD OF THE DEAD, WITCHES BREW PUMPKIN BREAD, AND COLD COLD COLORADO WATER. THEY ENJOYED OUR SHOP BUT HAD THE MOST FUN JUST LOOKING AT THE STAFF AND THEY WERE ALL VERY INTEREST IN OUR SOCIETY OF FUNERAL COACH ITEMS AND PURCHASED MANY THING.WE ARE POSTING MORE PICTURES AND THE DETAILS OF RONS " HOT' HEARSE THAT HAD A CROWD AROUND IN THROUGH TWO BUS LOADS OF PEOPLE. |

Description

Halloween parades seem to bring us out of the woodwork. I suspect some may consider this a "pseudo-hearse", but it was still a project to be sure. Reminescent of van conversions in the '60s and '70s (many of you weren't there) made this a satisfying challenge. The interior was no prob (black velvet and bud vases against the rear windows of a 2003 PT Cruiser) complement the 1940s look of the vehicle. The 18 gauge steel casket and period floral work completed the ensamble that lead a funeral cortege through Phillipsburg, NJ into Easton, PA. The burial, held later in the day, was private...a funeral for one. |
